Homicide is up 300%!

The Coronavirus lockdown has seen increases in suicides due to the Deaths of despair, and now the rate of homicides has increased dramatically. 


According to data from the Atlanta Police Department homicide is up 300% when compared to the same week last year. Homicide year over year is up 5% citywide. The murder rate for Atlanta is 17.7 per 100,000 people making it 44 of the top 67 deadliest cities. The US city with the most murders is St. Louis, Missouri with a murder rate of 60.9 per 100,000.
